Bangus Valley:

Point 1A heart throbbing landscape, a peek into the nature’s architecture, Bangus valley, decked in snow-capped mountains near Line of Control (LOC) in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district is something an ardent adventurer and explorer can’t afford to miss. Its breathtaking landscape of lush green meadows, majestic pines, Deodar trees, and gushing water streams mirroring sky, are enough to rob one of the beauty experienced in the past.
point 2 The bowl-shaped meadow, home to local Gujjars who herd their cattle and sheep in green pastures, is divided into two vast green fields or zones – Boad Bangus (Big Bangus) and Lakut Bangus (Small Bangus). Though compared with exquisiteness and splendid greenery of Gulmarg – a popular destination in Kashmir for tourists around the world – Bangus valley, has largely remained untouched to the influx of thousands of tourists visiting Kashmir, every year.

Brought recently on valley’s tourist map, the enthralling valley is an addition to the picturesque identity of having a first-hand experience of nature and calmness. The valley serves as a soothing experience for a very limited amount of local as well as foreign tourists who trip the place for adventure and serenity. While the Bangus valley lacks basic tourist facilities like guest houses, restaurants, road connectivity, etc., it in no way lessens the marvelous beauty of this heaven-like-garden on the planet..
